Qantas acquired Australian Airlines in September 19921992 is a leap year starting on Wednesday. Events January January The Internet Society is formed. 4 Rebirth

In October 20022002 is a common year starting on Tuesday (see link for calendar). 2002 was the first palindromic year since 1991 and the last until 2112. 2002 was also designated: International Year of Ecotourism and Mountains National Science Year in the United Kingdom, Qantas revived the Australian Airlines brand for targeting the low-cost leisure market, flying out primarily out of Cairns and Bali.

5 IATA Code

Trans Australia Airlines (later renamed Australian Airlines) used the IATA code TN until being acquired by Qantas. The present day incarnation of Australian Airlines uses the IATA designator AO, TAA's former code TN now being used by Air Tahiti Nui
