Andrew Steven Grove (born September 2, 1936) is co-founder and chairman of Intel Corporation. Grove was born "Gróf András" in Budapest, Hungary (note: in Hungary, the family name comes first), and growing up he was known to friends as "Andris". He earned a bachelor's degree in chemical engineering from the City College of New York in 1960 and a Ph.D. from the University of California, Berkeley in 1963. He worked at Fairchild Semiconductor before becoming the fourth employee at the nascent Intel Corporation.
