The Anglican Church of Hawai'i, also known as the Hawai'i Reformed Catholic Church, was established by King Kamehameha IV and Queen Emma in 1862. It became the national church of the Kingdom of Hawai'i, led by the Bishop of the Cathedral of Saint Andrew. With the overthrow of the Kingdom of Hawai'i in 1893 and United States annexation in 1898, the Anglican Church of Hawai'i was dissolved and forcibly taken over by the Episcopal Church United States (ECUSA).
