The BMW 1-Series is a range of compact automobiles from German manufacturer BMW. It is built in Regensburg and was first offered to the public in 2004. The hatchback variant will be unavailable in the United States.

BMW's internal name for the 1-Series is BMW E87.

1 Hatchback variant

In the Northern Hemisphere autumn of 2004, BMW will offer the hatchback variant of the 1-Series, schemed to compete in the market with the Volkswagen Golf. The hatchbacks will feature 4- cylinder engines, at least some of which will be built in the Hams Hall plant in Birmingham, England.
