Bexley is a city located in Franklin County, Ohio. As of the 2000 census, the city had a total population of 13,203.

It is also the name of an ancient English village now largely subsumed in the suburbs of London, but given prominence through lending its name to one London Borough of Bexley of 32 London Boroughs in the United Kingdom. Postally, that suburb is still known as Bexley, Kent and its growth as a residential dormitory area followed the opening of a radial railway line in 1866; on its eastern edge it is abutted by the Green Belt an administrative designation which preserves its scenic aspect. It has one of the country's finest butcher's shops on Bourne Road and a Holiday Inn.

Bexley, Ohio was named by a resident, Mr. Kilbourne, in honor of his family's roots in Bexley, England. The village of Bexley, Ohio was incorporated in 1920 when prominent citizens of Bullitt Park along Alum Creek including former Mayor of Columbus and industrialist Mr. Jeffrey agreed to merge with the mostly Lutheran community of Pleasant Ridge located around Christ Lutheran Church and the adjoining Lutheran seminary. Later, the village became the City of Bexley. The unincorporated village of Bullitt Park was launched in the 1880's by Mr. Bullitt of Philadelphia when wealthy citizens of Columbus continued to build country homes East along Broad Street (the National Road).

Bexley is the home to a Lutheran seminary and a Lutheran ordained liberal arts college, Capital University. Bexley High School is known as one of the top schools in Ohio; their sports teams are known as the Lions and have been sometime state basketball and tennis champions. Bexley is also home to a number of Central Ohio's private institutions such as Torah Academy, Columbus School for Girls, and St. Charles Preparatory School. Bexley has been the home of Bob Greene, the Chicago columnist who wrote "Be True to Your School", children's author R.L. Stine, billionaire Leslie Wexner, and several Governors of Ohio. Bexley is home to several churches and synagogues, several historic sites and pieces of outdoor sculpture, the famous Rubino's pizzaria, the Drexel arthouse movie theater, several miles of the National Road, and the Governor's Mansion for the State of Ohio. Adjoining Bexley is the Franklin Park Conservatory.
