The founders, in the 1890ties, was Berthe and Torberg Hansen. Both had lived some years on nearby insel "Adsen" before moving to the place of the later farm. This was the first farm in this municipality to have electricity. This was made available by an generator, which is still located on the farm. The area have some small fields and many small "mountains" Income were mostly from the drying of Stockfish .
The farm was used until the end of the 1940s. It is now a summer retreat for some of the ancestors of Berthe and Torberg. It is currently being used by the 3rd and 4th generation after Berthe and Torberg. Note: The farms name can also be written: Bjørnevika, Bjørnevig or Bjørnevigen.
