Blackburn is a suburb of Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, named after Blackburn in England. It lies within the City of Whitehorse in Melbourne's eastern suburbs. Blackburn is somewhat unique in that a large part of the suburb - known as the Bellbird area or Laburnum - is covered by a heritage listing. This has limited development in a large part of the suburb, meaning it has been able to retain a rural feel, despite only being a short train ride from downtown Melbourne.

The major shopping hub of Box Hill is only 2 train stops away, while 3 buses connect Blackburn to Forest Hill. It shares a postcode with Blackburn North and Blackburn South

Blackburn contains two train stations, Laburnum and Blackburn, on the Belgrave and LilydaleThe Lilydale railway line is a suburban railway in Melbourne, Australia. It branches from the Belgrave line at Ringwood station. It has 4 stations, all of which are in Metcard ticketing Zone 3. Infrastructure The Lilydale line is duplicated to Mooroolbark lines.

The large artificial lake at the centre of the Blackburn Lake SanctuaryBlackburn Lake Sanctuary is one of the few remaining areas of natural bushland in suburban Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. It is located in the suburb of Blackburn. It is the most significant of the many parks in the City of Whitehorse, featuring extensiv was a popular "holiday resort" location during the 19th Century, when the suburb was at the outskirts of Melbourne, and was a fruit growing area servicing the city.

Although once slated to be developed into housing, protesting by locals in the early 1980s ensured the creation of a chain of parks through the centre of Blackburn, linking Blacks Walk, Kalang Park and Furness Park into the Blackburn Creeklands.
