2 History

Historically Blechingia belonged to the Danish Crown, as a part of Terra Scania, together with provinces Scania and Hallandia, which made up the eastern part of the Danish kingdom. Blekinge became a Swedish province in 1658 following the Treaty of RoskildeThe Treaty of Roskilde was signed on February 26, 1658 in the Danish city Roskilde, whereby the king of Denmark-Norway sacrificed nearly half his territory to save the rest. He was forced to cede the Danish provinces of Terra Scania and the Norwegian prov.
