Clarice Ferguson, codenamed Blink, the pink skinned, dark-pink haired, green eyed girl did not last for long in the Marvel Universe ( Earth-616 ), being killed during the introduction of the group that would later become Generation X in the X-Men comic books.Her popularity greatly increased during a short phase of all the X-Men comic series known as the ' Age of Apocalypse', an alternate, much darker version of the Marvel Universe. In that reality Blink is a major member of Magneto's X-Men.
She has the ability to teleport herself and others near her at will. She carries a quiver full of short, lavender javelins, which, when thrown, teleport whatever people or objects they contact. These javelins have the appearance of irregularly shaped transparent crystals, but their source and their ability to act as conduits for Blink's teleportation power have never been fully explained, although her supply is seemingly inexhaustible. Her teleportation power has some other manifestations--primarily that she is able to open portals, which she uses to redirect energy blasts and other phenomena which she might not otherwise be able to teleport. She has shown great control in teleportation, sometimes teleporting only parts of objects or large groups of people, even once managing to teleport as far as the moon. Her teleportations are accompanied by a characteristic "blink!" sound, from which she takes her codename.
Although presumed dead at the end of the ' Age of Apocalypse' series, she later reappeared as leader of the Exiles, a spinoff Marvel series, hopping from one alternate universe to the next, fixing wrongs in each of them. In this team, she got envolved with Mimic (Calvin Rankin).
