The Paddle Steamer Waverley lies in Brodick Bay in front of Brodick castle, waiting for the car ferry to leave before returning to the pier. Features include the harbour which receives the main connecting ferry with the mainland which sails to Ardrossan, and Brodick Castle, a former residence of the Dukes of Hamilton.
Brodick is a well known holiday destination, with tourism providing much of the village's economic base.
Brodick's population was 621 in the 2001 Census.
