Cardiology is the branch of medicine dealing with disorders of the heart and blood vessels. The human heart is a complex organ, consisting of two ventricles and two atria. Coronary arteries feed the heart the blood it needs to sustain itself.

Selected topics in cardiology:

1 Anatomy & physiology

1.1 Basic anatomy (Structure of the heart)

1.2 Circulatory system (Blood supply of the body)

1.3 Pulmonary circulationThe pulmonary circulation is a circuit of blood circulation in the cardiovascular system, serving exclusively the lungs, where red blood cells pick up oxygen and release carbon dioxide during respiration. Deoxygenated blood is pumped out of the right vent (Oxygenation of the blood)

1.4 Cardiac pacemakerThe contractions of the heart are controlled by electrical impulses, these fire at a rate which controls the beat of the heart. The cells that create these rhythmical impulses are called pacemaker cells, and they directly control the heart rate. Artificia (Electrical system of the heart)

1.5 Basic cardiac physiology
