Cassiar was a small company owned minning town nestled in the mountains of Northern British Columbia. After several decades of operation, the mine was closed down in the mid to late 1990s after the demand for Asbestos wanned. Most of the contents of the town, including the houses, were sold off.

The town had a schools, a church, a small hospital, and a rink.
