The Cat People of the upper Susquehanna Valley, Pennsylvania are purported to be a tribe in Susquahanock native American folklore who were over 10 feet tall, had two rows of teeth (4 rows total), and were savage by local accounts. Their skin was light, and hair was red to black. They ate rocks and their human enemies. The northeast tribes were afraid of them. The Cat People's speech sounded like "a panther scream". Their bones contained much iron from the minerals they ate, making their bodies tough : cannon balls would bounce off of them in battles. Cat People could breed with humans and create hybrid offspring. Many of the Susquahanock tribe were hybrids. The average Susquahanock male was 6' 6" tall in the 1600's. Compare this to the 5' 2" height of the average European male at that time. In the Dutch wars in Baltimore, a Susquahanock war chief was about 7' 6" tall. He was called a son of the Cat People and had four rows of teeth.
The legend of the Cat People goes back before the 1600's, before white settlers came to America from Europe. John Smith of Jamestown wrote a lot about the Susquahanock and made many drawings of them. Archaeologists found: bowls 48 to 90 inches and none smaller in that area, 35 feet x 25 feet homes, and 6 inch arrowheads. Two remains are 11 feet long. Some people search along the river with metal detectors to try to find the irony bones of the Cat People. Some of the artifacts are in the William Penn Museum (Philadelphia), museums along the river valley, and the Millersburg University(Lancaster).
It is said that much of the proof, including Cat People remains (skeletons) are being taken and hidden from the public, purportedly by men in black ( MIB).
