Catherine O'Hara (born March 4, 1954 in Toronto, Ontario) is a Canadian actress and comedian. She is well known for her movie roles as Delia Deitz in Beetlejuice ( 1988) and Kate McCallister in Home Alone ( 1990).

She started her acting career in 1974 as a cast member of The Second City in Toronto. In 1976, this theatre troupe created the television series SCTV, on which O'Hara became a regular performer. In the late 1970s, she did various voice-overs for a number of cartoonA cartoon is a form of art with diverse origins and even more diverse modern meanings. In its historical original meaning, a cartoon is a full-size drawing made on paper as a study for a further artwork, such as a painting. However, cartoons were typicalls, which would continue throughout her career.

In her personal life, she married Bo Welch in 1992. They have two sons, born in 1994 and 1997. O'Hara is the sister of singer-songwriter Mary Margaret O'HaraMary Margaret O'Hara is a Canadian singer-songwriter, who has been hailed as one of the greatest cult heroines in rock music despite having released very few of her own recordings. She is the sister of comedic actress Catherine O'Hara. O'Hara was a studen.
