DJ Laz is a Latino rapper and DJ from Miami, of Cuban descent. He is one of the most prolific Miami bass artists - others, like JT Money from Poison Clan, have switched from bass to the more fashionable gangsta rap. Laz, however, the self-proclaimed "King of Bass", still focuses on bass music (often with influences from Latin music), with occasional ventures into Latin hip hop and gangsta rap. Laz was one of the first to mix Latin styles with bass music, together with Jonny Z.
