Daniyal Akhmetov (born 1954) is the Prime Minister of Kazakhstan since June 2003, replacing Imangali Tasmagambetov . Akhmetov is an ethnic Russian. He had been deputy prime minister before becoming prime minister. He had previously been Governor of Pavlodar Oblast . He managed to push through the land reform bill his predecessor had resigned over.
