David Keith Lynch (born January 20, 1946 in Missoula, Montana) is an American filmmaker and professor at the European Graduate School.His love of surrealism is particularly notable in the disturbing and strangely incomprehensible film Eraserhead, and the television series Twin Peaks. Recently he has made some more mainstream (yet still distinctly "Lynchian") films with studios like Disney.

Lynch is the father of director Jennifer Lynch . Lynch was married to Isabella Rossellini.
