1 Geography

East Port Orchard is located at 47°31'16" North, 122°37'30" West (47.521061, -122.625086) 1.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the CDP has a total area of 6.5 km˛ (2.5 mi˛). 6.5 km˛ (2.5 mi˛) of it is land and none of the area is covered with water.

2 Demographics

As of the census 2 of 2000, there are 5,116 people, 1,893 households, and 1,385 families residing in the CDP. The population density is 790.1/km˛ (2,043.1/mi˛). There are 1,965 housing units at an average density of 303.5/km˛ (784.7/mi˛). The racial makeup of the CDP is 85.83% White, 1.74% African American, 1.11% Native American, 4.30% Asian, 1.29% Pacific Islander, 1.29% from other races, and 4.44% from two or more races. 4.63% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.

There are 1,893 households out of which 37.9% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 55.9% are married couplesMarriage is a relationship that plays a key role in the definition of many families.
