Ezra Vogel is an American author who has written several books on Japan and Asia.He was born in 1930 in Delaware, Ohio. He studied at Ohio Wesleyan University and Harvard University and received his PhD in 1958. He taught between 1967 and 2000 at Harvard.
His book Japan as Number One is the all-time bestseller held by Western authors in Japan.
A star professor at Harvard University, Ezra Vogel is fluent in Chinese and Japanese. Arguably, he is the only scholar who understands both China and Japan.
