According to the United States Census Bureau, the township has a total area of 91.5 km˛ (35.3 mi˛). 83.8 km˛ (32.3 mi˛) of it is land and 7.7 km˛ (3.0 mi˛) of it is water. The total area is 8.43% water.

As of the census 2 of 2000, there are 3,285 people, 1,304 households, and 984 families residing in the township. The population density is 39.2/km˛ (101.6/mi˛).
