The Ford Verona was a car sold in Brazil in the 1980s. It was a locally designed two-door sedan version of the European Ford Escort Mk3.5, intended to cater for Brazilian demand for two-door sedans. It also featured the very eficient CHT 1.6 engine.It is a totally different car from the Ford Orion and must not be confused with it.
In 1993 came its new generation, based on the Ford Escort Mk4. This version was powered by the classic Volkswagen AP engine instead of the traditional CHT engine and the gearbox from the Volkswagen Jetta.
The mk3.5-based version was also released by Vokswagen under the name Apolo , and later the Mk4-based version was named Logus . Both featured VW's own interior design
