Gants Hill tube station is situated on the Central Line network in Zone 4.Construction originally began in the 1930s but was suspended during the Second World War, where it was instead used as an air raid shelter and munitions factory. The station was finally completed in 1947.
There are a large number of restaurants and pubs nearby as well as Valentines High School and
Valentines park. It is also within walking distance of Ilford.
The Odeon cinema (orginally the Savoy) has recently been demolished to pave way for new apartments.
