Groenlo is a municipality and a city in the eastern Netherlands. On January 1, 2005, the municipality of Groenlo will be merged with Lichtenvoorde. The name of the new municipality will officially be "Groenlo", but the municipal council will probably change it to "Groenlo/Lichtenvoorde".

Groenlo is famous for its own beer brewery Grolsch, which is in business since 1615. Every season has its own special beer type. Grolsch is exported all over the world.

Groenlo received city rights in 1277.
