Built for the Second World War the ship was launched on October 5, 1941 after being built by Canadian Vickers Ltd. of Montreal. The ship had a VTE reciprocating engine. After the war it was decommissioned on October 30, 1945. Recommissioned after 1949 with penant number 196. Sold in February 1959.
