Harry Seidler (born 1923) is an Austrian architect who works in Australia and is considered to be one of the leading architects of the modern movement there and the first architect to fully express the principles of the Bauhaus in Australia. He is a founding memeber of the Australian Architecture Association and in 1976 he received the RAIA Gold Medal. In 1984 he became the first Australian to be elected a member of the Acadamie d'Architecture,Paris and in 19787 was honoured by the Companion Order of Australia, an honour which he accepted in his tradmark suit and bowtie.
