Kirby met Joe SimonJoe Simon (born 1915) was a comic book author and cartoonist who created or co-created many memorable characters in the Golden Age. He worked extensively with Jack Kirby, with whom he co-created Captain America for Timely Comics (now Marvel), one of the m while he was producing freelance work for a variety of publishers.
