Alicia Christian "Jodie" Foster (born November 19, 1962) is an American actress and director.1 Life and career
Foster was born in Los Angeles, California where she attended the exclusive prep school, the Lycée Français de Los Angeles , before going on to Yale University where she earned a BA in Literature, graduating magna cum laude in 1985.
Foster has made more than 50 film appearances and television since the age of eight. She began her career at the age of 2 in television commercials, including an appearance as the Coppertone Girl, and then went on to appear in a variety of television series. In film, at the age of 12, she earned a nomination for the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress for her role in Martin Scorsese's film, Taxi Driver.
Foster is intensively private about her personal life.
