Karol Adamiecki was one of the most famous management researchers in Central and Eastern Europe in his times. He begun his research in Petersburg, Russia, then moved to Poland.

He did majority of his research and observation in the metallurgy area.

He is the author of the law of harmony in management - harmony should be composed of three parts:

• harmony of choice (all production tools should be compatible with each other, with special regard to their output production speed)
• harmony of doing (importance of time coordination, schedules and harmonogram s)
• harmony of spirit (importance of creating a good team)

He is the patron of The Karol Adamiecki University of Economics in Katowice (pl. Akademia Ekonomiczna im. Karola Adamieckiego w Katowicach).
