Home > Kfar Vradim


Kfar Vradim is a small town in northern Israel, occupied by a mostly-wealthy 5000 inhabitants. It is situated just south of Maalot Tarshiha and about 12 kilometers south of the Lebanon border. Kfar Vradim was established in September 1984. Its founder, Steph Vertheimer, sought to create an industrial town with a high quality of living.

Kfar Vradim started as a town with 50 to 100 familes, and at first had no electricity and water. The first families to move were mostly workers at Iscar, a successful factory owned by Steph Vertheimer specializing in metal blades. Initially, Kfar Vradim received no support or recognition from the Israeli govenment, which didn't consider it to be a valid town, resulting in a financial crisis. Eventually, it was recognized and began receiving support.

Peak tempartures in Kfar Vradim in summer typically reach about 38°C (100°F), while its January and February tempartures can fall as low as -2°C (28°F). Average temperatures range from 10 to 15 °C (50-60°F) in the winter to 28-32°C at summer (80-90°F). It is usually relatively dry and characterized in a Mediterranean climate.

Real estate prices vary from 300,000 - 350,000 USD in some neighbourhoods to 180,000 - 250,000 USD in other, newer ones.
