Marquis DuQuesne was a French Governor of Canada.
DuQuesne served from 1752 through 1755, and was very aggressive in enforcing French presence in the present-day Quebec region, by some accounts even clearing out English settlers. He built a line of defensive fortifications to strengthen the French presence.
