Marvel vs. Capcom 2 is a video game that was released in the spring of 2000 in America. It is available in arcades, and on the Sega Dreamcast and PlayStation 2 video game systems. It features 24 playable characters on activation and also time-releases an additional 32 characters based on experience points.

The format is 3 on 3, 1 character controlled at one time, unlimited use of secondary, or tertiary characters as "assist" characters (one assist per player at any one time only).
