Mladen Ivanic (Serbian Cyrillic Младен Иванић) is a Bosnian politician the current foreign minister of Bosnia and Herzegovina. He is the sixth foreign minister of the country since it achieved independence in 1992, succeeding Zlatko Lagumdzija on the post.
He is a member of the center-right Party of democratic progress , its president and its founding member since 1999. Born in 1958 in Sanski Most, in the Una-Sana Canton, Ivanic has been a resident of Banja Luka since 1971, where he got his university diploma in economics. He then got a doctor's degree in Belgrade; interestingly, the thesis was titled Contemporary marxist political economy in the West.
His political carreer begins in 1988, when he became a member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
