Nanticoke is a town located in Broome County, New York. As of the 2000 census, the town had a total population of 1,790.

The Town of Nanticoke was formed from the Town of Lisle in 1831 and includes the communities of Glen Aubrey and Nanticoke.

1 Geography

According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 63.1 km˛ (24.4 mi˛). 63.0 km˛ (24.3 mi˛) of it is land and 0.1 km˛ (0.04 mi˛) of it is water. The total area is 0.16% water.

2 Demographics

As of the census 2 of 2000, there are 1,790 people, 629 households, and 481 families residing in the town. The population density is 28.4/km˛ (73.6/mi˛). There are 717 housing units at an average density of 11.4/km˛ (29.5/mi˛). The racial makeup of the town is 97.71% White, 0.28% African American, 0.39% Native American, 0.22% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 0.22% from other races, and 1.17% from two or more races. 0.84% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.
