The original Ottawa Senators franchise was based in Ottawa from 1901 to 1934. They competed in the National Hockey Association and the National Hockey League and won a total of nine Stanley CupThe Stanley Cup originally titled the Dominion Hockey Challenge Cup is awarded each year by the National Hockey League to the champion of its playoff tournament.
