Paul Stamets (Born July 17, 1955) is a mycologist and an occasional wacky mushroom aficionado. He has written numerous books and papers on the subject of mushroom identification and cultivation. He has a particular interest in the hallucinogenic Psilocybin mushrooms. He has produced arguably the best guide book to Psylocybin mushrooms in print to date, "Psilocybin Mushrooms of the World".

His website Fungi Perfecti sells mushroom growing kits, spawn and cultures of gourmet and medicinal varieties (not Psilocybin mushrooms).
