Pavlov's dog is a 1970s progressive rock/ AOR band which released only 3-4 albums from 1974. Their debut was called Pampered Menial. The singer David Surkamp's voice has been compared to Geddy Lee of Rush. The band relied heavily on the Mellotron. It was rumoured that the lead singer died in the late 1970s when the band split. However, in 2004 the band are hosting a reunion concert in St. Louis, Missouri. Formed in St. Louis in 1972, the members of Pavlov’s Dog: David Surkamp on vocals and guitar. Steve Scorfina, lead guitar. Mike Safron,drums. Rick Stockton, bassist. David Hamilton, keyboard. Doug Rayburn on mellotron and flute. Siegfried Carver, born Richard Nadler, all kinds of string instruments including the rare Vitar, something in between a guitar and a violin. ( Made in Boston in the early 70s ) In 1976, before the release of their second album At the Sound of the Bell, David Hamilton was replaced by Tom Nickeson
