Peter Ferdinand Drucker (born November 19, 1909) is a management theorist who created many phrases common in business today.

Drucker, born in Vienna, Austria, moved to the United States in 1937. He taught at New York University as Professor of Management from 1950 to 1971. Since 1971 he has been the Clarke Professor of Social Science and Management at Claremont University . He lives in Claremont, California.

He has been writing influential works about management since the 1940s. He has written about 30 books, and from 1975 to 1995 he was an editorial columnist for the Wall Street Journal. Now in his nineties, he still consults for businesses and non-profit organizationA non-profit organization (often called "non-profit org" or simply "non-profit" or "not-for-profit") may be a formal incorporated not-for-profit corporation that does not have shareholders, though it may have members and issue membership certificates or rs.
