It has been merchandised into anime, manga, trading cards, toys, and much more. The name Poke that evolves into Pidgeotto at level 18 and Pidgeot at level 36. A common sight in forests and woods, Pidgey is very docile; when attacked, it will usually flap its wings rapidly at ground level to kick up sand rather than fighting, a technique also used to drive insect prey out into the open.
The name Pidgey is derived from Pigeon and means "Small Pigeon".
In Pokémon Red/ Blue, Pokémon Yellow and Pokémon Gold/ Silver/ Crystal, Pidgey can be found on various routes. In Pokémon Ruby/ Sapphire and Pokémon Colosseum, Pidgey is not available at all.
