Pirates of the Caribbean 2, the sequel to , is due to come out in 2006. The film is tentatively subtitled, "Pirates of the Caribbean: Treasures of the Lost Abyss."Like the first movie, it will star Johnny Depp as Captain Jack Sparrow, Orlando Bloom as Will Turner, and Keira Knightley as Elizabeth Swann. Director Gore Verbinski and writers Ted Elliot and Terry Rossio have also commited to work on the film. And Keith Richards, the model for Depp's flamboyant pirate persona, has agreed to appear in a cameo role as Jack Sparrow's father.
Filming is scheduled to begin late in 2004, and will likely include some location shooting in St. Vincent, where the first film was shot. It's possible that a third 'Pirates of the Caribbean' film will be shot at the same time.
