The Proletarian Party of America was a socialist political party in the United States. It was founded in Michigan in 1919 by former Socialist Party of America members who had been expelled for supporting the October Revolution.

The party very soon joined the Communist Party USA, but was expelled in 1920 due to disagreements over the structure and methods of operation of the CPUSA. The party maintained relations with the Comintern for a few years, at first growing to become a national organization and publishing Proletarian News.

The party began concentrating on publishing and organizing strikes during a long decline in membership. It was finally disbanded in 1971.
