Ptolemy Philadelphus ( 36 - 12 BC) was the youngest child of Mark Antony and Cleopatra. Augustus Caesar took him and his sister Cleopatra Selene back to Rome as captives after their parents killed themselves (and their two brothers died) in 30 BC, and they lived with Octavia, who was Augustus's sister and had been Antony's wife. Ptolemy became a chariot racer and died in an accident on the track, competing against his chief rival, Antipater, the son of King Herod the Great of Judea. Ancient Rome 1st century BC births
