Pyrotechnic stars are found in all projectile fireworks. When you watch a firework, it will launch into the sky, burning a lifting charge. Once the lifting charge has burnt completely, due to other mechanisms within the firework, it will ignite stars, which are metal powders, salts or other compounds that, when ignited, burn a certain colour.
