Home > Python kiss
The concept behind the python kiss originates from mytholiges surrounding Apollo, the Romanized Greek God. Apollo was gifted in mathematics, medicine, prophecy and music. During his adulthood, Apollo searched for an appropriate location where his shrine would be established. He discovered a location in delphi protected by a python. Apollo slayed the python and established his shrine on that region. The confrontation between Apollo and the python symbolizes the imbalance that exist between metaphysical world (ruled by science, medecine, mathematics, prophecy) and the physical world.Eventhough Apollo won over the python, he never achieved complete satisfaction in life. Apollo was not good at socializing or relating to others. Hence, slaying the python brought an end to Apollo's physical world. Apollo had been cursed, or kissed by the python.
Python kiss, therefore, symbolizes the interconnectivity between math/science and the physical world; the two can not live without each other (yin/yang).
