RTÉ News and Current Affairs is the news programming department of RTÉ, the Irish national broadcasting service. RTÉ News programming is transmitted via RTÉ radio ( RTÉ Radio 1, 2FM, RTÉ Lyric FM & RTÉ Raidió na Gaeltachta 1 ) and RTÉ television ( RTÉ One, RTÉ Two & TG4 1 ). RTÉ News content is also available on the internet: virtually all of RTÉ's radio and television news programming is subsequently made available in the form of RealPlayer audio and video clips which can be streamed, also, live news programming can be recieved live via streaming media. RTE News was merged with RTE Current Affairs in September 2003, to form "RTE News and Current Affairs". RTE News continues as the brand on regular TV and radio news programming.
"Nuacht RTE" is the division of RTE News and Current Affairs which produces Nuacht RTE, Nuacht TG4, and Clinlinte Nuachta.

- RTÉ News on TwoRTE News on Two is RTE's late evening news programme. The program is broadcast daily on the Irish RTE Two TV channel. It does not have a regular time slot, but is usually broadcast at some point between 10:45pm and 11:30pm. It runs for 25 minutes. RTE New ( news on RTE Two)

- Prime TimePrime Time is the major current affairs strand on RTE Television in Ireland. It is broadcast regularly on RTE One on Tuesday and Thursday nights at 9:30pm. Occassionally, documentary programmes ("Prime Time Investigates") or special editions are shown on (current affairs programme)
- Questions and AnswersThe Irish television programme Questions and Answers is an RTE News and current affairs presentation broadcast on Monday evenings at 10:25 pm on RTE One, running for approximately 45 minutes. It follows an almost identical format to the BBC's long-running (current affairs discussion)
