RTÉ Two (known from 1988 to 2004 as Network 2 or RTÉ Network Two) is Ireland's second-oldest television channel, produced by Irish state broadcaster Radio Telefís Éireann. It started broadcasting in 1978 as RTÉ2; its name was changed to Network 2 in September 1988. There was another major relaunch in 1997, the channel was visually rebranded as "N2", though announcers continued to refer to "Network 2".

RTÉ Two's main emphasis is on programmes for children and young people, particularly during the daytime, with sports and American imports in the evenings. It is also the home of RTÉ's live sports coverage. The channel's children's strand, The Den runs from 6am to 5pm each weekday, followed by its youth strand, iD Two from 5pm to 7pm. RTÉ News on Two airs each weekday after 10:45pm.

RTÉ Two is universally available throughout the island of Ireland on the VHF and UHF bands (though VHF has mostly been phased out), and is also available on satelliteSatellite television is television delivered by way of orbiting communications satellites located 37,000 km (22,300 miles) above the earth's surface. The first satellite television signal was relayed from Europe to the Telstar satellite over North America to Irish subscribers to Sky Digital.

From September 2003, continuity announcers and trailers began to refer to the channel by the fuller title of "RTÉ Network Two", in line with a new RTÉ initive to promote the corporate branding. The main channel identThe Ident Protocol specified in RFC 1413, is an old internet server system that helps identify the user of a particular TCP connection. One popular ident daemon is identd. When a user or program at computer A makes an ident request of computer B, it may os never changed, and said merely "N2" (apart from the on-screen DOGDigital On-Screen Graphics or a DOG ''DOG Tag is the name for the overlayed station logo that many broadcasters use for easy identification of their channels. The DOG was first used on satellite and cable television systems in their early days, when broad).

The channel's name was reverted to RTÉ Two on 2nd October 2004 at 8pm, with an accompanying publicity campaign featuring Podge and RodgePodge and Rodge are the two characters from A Scare at Bedtime, an Irish adult comedy televised puppet show. The characters were created and are produced by Mick O'Hara and Ronan McCabe. Podge originally appeared on The Den, appearing only occasionally, a (see The Den). The new logo is similar in style to the current RTE ONE logo.

SNL mocked this station as "Ireland's Other TV Channel", which it was for many years.
