Rabites range in color varying from yellow (the "plain" rabite), pink (also known as "rabilion"), white ("great rabite") and black (a hidden boss in Seiken Densetsu 3 and the only one known to use magic). In Shinyaku Seiken Densetsu ( Sword of Mana), it is possible to "upgrade" the rabites into more powerful "black rabites" (not magic-using ones, though) by killing 1000 of them.
Rabites are known for their biting and leaping attacks. In Legend of Mana , they also have a "star" attack, which decreases its foes' special attack gauge.
Rabites can be kept as pets in Legend of Mana. Although not very strong in battles, they have a useful health recovery effect when they are in the player's party.
