Sgt. Slaughter (real name Robert Remus) was an American wrestler from the US World Wrestling Federation. In his " gimmick" he greatly distrusted American culture and battled wrestlers as Hulk Hogan and the The Ultimate Warrior, causing controversy in 1991 by being billed as an Iraqi sympathizer. After losing to Hulk Hogan twice in championship matches, he went to the "good" side (known as becoming a " face" in professional wrestling) to help spread the American way of life and bring justice and freedom. He still occasionally wrestles for WWE, but his primary role in the promotion now is that of a road agent.He was also part of the G.I. Joe cartoon series, as a member of the G.I. Joe team and first appeared in an episode entitled " Arise, Serpentor, Arise!" and along with the traditional merchandising of WWE superstars, Sergeant Slaughter is one of few real people to be immortalized as a G.I. Joe figure.
