The Stalin Prize (initially it was Lenin Prize; the name was restored in 1957 as a result of destalinization) was the Soviet Union's highest civilian honour. It was created in 1941 and awarded annually individuals in the fields of science, literatature, arts and mathematics to honour achievements which either advanced the Soviet Union or the cause of socialism. Often the prize was awarded to specific works rather than to individuals.

The Stalin Prize was a different honour than the Stalin Peace Prize which was created in 1947 and was usually awarded to foreign recipients rather than to Soviet citizens.
