The Stern School of Business, New York University's business school, is one of the premier business management educational institutions in the United States. Students who attend the Stend School of Business are referred to as "sternies". Stern has been historically ranked #1 in field of business finance, which is also the largest major among undergraduates. It was named after the famed Leonard N. Stern and is today, one of the most distinguished schools of its kind in the world. Stern offers a broad spectrum of academic programs at the graduate and undergraduate levels from its campus in Greenwich Village in Manhattan, New York City. All Stern classes have a strong emphasis on teamwork, but the "stern curve" forces each individual to compete with his or her peers. Under the "stern curve", only 30% of students receive A's, and 30% recieve a grade lower than a B.

Students at Stern can take advantage of what the world's financial capital has to offer in terms of education, exposure and unparalleled employment opportunities. Notable alumni from the Stern School of Business include Alan Greenspan, Federal Reserve Bank Chairman .
