The Age of Unreason is a series of four books written by Gregory Keyes.There is also a popular business book titled The Age of Unreason by Charles Handy , (Harvard Business School Press, 1989)
1 Setting
The story spans the late seventeenth and early eighteenth century. The author makes use of fictional sciences (scientific alchemy instead of our physics) that were popular at the time: using affinity and aether, for example. Some historical characters appear: Isaac Newton, Louis XIV of France, Benjamin Franklin and Peter the Great of Russia have important roles in various volumes. Action moves between England (eventually destroyed by giant dinosaur-killer meteorite) and France, later involving Russia, Austria and the American Colonies.
